Children celebrate Halloween at library

Young witches, superheroes, and other characters huddled near a librarian to listen to a story about how to turn bad dreams into good. The storytelling between bookshelves was only the beginning of an activity-filled evening for children and youth in the Madera County Library headquarters.

Organized by the library staff and the Friends of the Madera County Library, the Halloween Party included crafting, games and food. About 100 people attended and quickly filled the Blanche Galloway Room to take part in the event. Most of the children were dressed in costumes. A decorated background was set up where attendants took photos in costume.

Madera County Librarian Ellen Mester dressed as a pumpkin and greeted children and their families.
