A county agency, which usually only operates on weekdays, will open its doors on June 1 to help clients who need to start, catch up or fix any issues with child support. The Madera County Department of Child Support Services, 120 N. Lake St., will have staff available to discuss topics related to the child support program such as drivers’ license release opportunities, modyifing court orders, past due child support, enforcement remedies and payment plans.
“It’s very difficult for people to take time off work and come in so we thought we’d do this to accommodate them,” said Cyndi Darrah, the special programs coordinator.
The child support program open house will be from 9 a.m. to noon.
Staff will also provide updated information about regulation and enforcement actions. Fishing and hunting licenses are now subject to suspension for those delinquent on child support obligations, said Darrah...
