Cheetah to visit library today

A cheetah named Tango is set to visit the Madera County Library at 4 p.m. today and the public is invited to meet him.

Tango is one of many rare wild cats, big and small, who are cared for in the Cat Haven sanctuary operated by Project Survival in Dunlap, Calif.

“It’’s a great opportunity to see a big cat up close and personal,” said Ellen Mester, the county librarian.

On Friday, a Silent Movie Night is planned to feature Charlie Chaplin’s “The Kid.” Nate Butler is set to play the piano to accompany the movie and give commentary, said Mester...
