Chavira Family Farm donates $1,000 to Relay For Life

In a brief ceremony held at the Madera Elks Lodge, members of Chavira Family Farm presented a check for $1,000 to the American Cancer Society’s Madera Relay For Life.

The funds were raised when the family hosted a sports attire dance at the lodge June 4.

Accepting the check Tuesday evening was Fresno-Madera Relay manager David Bond.

“I think it is awesome that teams are still raising money after the event because cancer doesn’t take time off. More communities should be doing this,” Bond said...
