Burrowed in the serene rolling hills of central California and surrounded by flourishing greens is the town once known as Fresno Flats.
Established as Fresno Flats by the post office on Aug. 18, 1873, the name remained for almost 40 years.
The name of the small mountain town was changed to what we now know as Oakhurst all because of a robbery.
