PG&E helps Arts Council with annual exhibition

Pacific Gas & Electric gave a $1,000 Community Investment Grant to the Madera County Arts Council to sponsor this year’s Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts exhibition, beginning in October.

The exhibition will be on display at the Circle Gallery at 1653 N. Schnoor, Suite 113 from Oct. 5 through Nov. 17, with an opening wine and appetizer reception and awards ceremony Oct. 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 pm. at no charge. Circle Gallery will be open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the exhibition.

“We’ve shifted our giving in recent years,” said local PG&E spokesman Denny Boyles. “In the past we gave to energy-related projects but we’ve branched out beyond that to support economic development and education. Celebrate Ag falls under the education category. Anything we can do to help the community thrive helps us as well. We are a big supporter of the arts and we believe it’s a good investment.”

The grant money will be used to underwrite costs associated with the Irrigation & Row Crops category of the 19th annual arts competition and exhibition, said arts council president Dr. Martha Mossman...
