The largest primary care provider in Madera County is set to celebrate National Health Center Week 2012 by providing free services and information in Madera and Chowchilla.
The national observance, which begins Monday and ends Aug. 11, recognizes health centers for their long success in providing access to affordable, high quality, cost-effective health care to medically vulnerable and underserved people, according to the National Health Center Week website.
Locally, Camarena Health plans to put on a free health fair on Tuesday at Madera Health Center and Corporate Headquarters, 344 E. Sixth St. from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Services will include blood sugar and blood pressure screenings. The clinic and more than 15 local agencies also plan to give out information.
On Friday, Camarena Health is also set to give the same services and information during the City of Chowchilla’s 23rd annual Community-Wide Block Party. The event will take place in the Sports & Leisure Park, 625 N. 15th St. from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
