A car stopped on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks on Avenue 9 near Road 33 1/2 was struck broadside by a train early Thursday morning. The car wound up on the tracks after the occupants had started fighting and abandoned the vehicle, according to The California Highway Patrol.
The driver was arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
CHP public information officer Mark Cosentino said the details of the approximately 2 a.m. crash were sketchy, and still being investigated.
No injuries were reported...
