With 24 years experience in the California Legislature and eight years in Congress, Jim Costa is seeking to go back to Congress to represent the people of the newly drawn 16th Congressional District.
Costa was born in Fresno and is a third-generation family farmer. He graduated from Fresno’s San Joaquin Memorial High School in 1970 and from Fresno State in 1974.
The next year, Costa worked as a special assistant to Congressman John Krebs, and in 1976 he was an administrative assistant to Assemblyman Richard Lehman.
