Local committees for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life event are inviting all cancer survivors and caregivers to breakfast Saturday.

The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, pastries, juice and coffee and is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Peters Brothers Hall, 1135 S. Granada Drive.

The theme for this year’s Relay For Life is “Let’s Hit One Out of the Park Against Cancer” and teams are choosing their favorite sport or team. All participants are encouraged to dress in the shirt, jersey or attire of their favorite sports team, from baseball, football, basketball, hockey and NASCAR to soccer or even curling. Prizes will be awarded for youngest, oldest and the one showing the most spirit.

The breakfast is part of this year’s Relay For Life. One of the largest community gatherings in Madera, the 24-hour event is scheduled for May 5- 6 at Lions Town & Country Park and is co-sponsored by the Madera Parks and Community Services Department.
