Kay McCullough pulled another batch of cookies out of the oven to cool before she sat down. She poured a cup of coffee and took a seat at the dining room table. Her smile beamed across the table as she began.
“In 1989, while taking a shower l was doing what they said all women should, and I discovered a lump and said uh oh,” said McCullough.
She went alone to a surgeon in Fresno, Dr. Constance Micas. He performed a biopsy and when the results came back they sat down. “We have a problem here, and it’s not a good problem,” said Micas.
