Funds are for construction of new facility downtown

Darin M. Camarena Health Centers, Inc. was awarded a building capacity grant for $4.8 million Tuesday for the construction of a new facility in downtown Madera.

Camarena Health is the largest provider of primary care services, including medical, dental, laboratory and health education services, in Madera County. The centers in Madera and Chowchilla see 21,000 patients each year.

With the grant funding, the company will construct a new facility on the corner of A and 6th streets that will provide additional OB/Gyn, preventative care and dental services, said spokesman Eric Linville.

Construction on an Oakhurst facility on Road 426 is ongoing and should be completed in July, Linville said...
