A local business fed children and teenagers who have been preparing their animals to show and sell at this year’s Madera District Fair.

Students in Future Farmers of America and 4-H clubs who participate in the show and auction were treated to a hot dog dinner along with their families. More than 500 meals were served Tuesday.

Purl’s Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning holds a barbecue at the livestock barns in the Madera fairgrounds prior to the start of the fair every year.

Susan Stomer, the dairy leader in Alview-Dairyland Elementary School’s 4-H Club, said she was pleased to see Purl’s supporting the kids...
