A Madera County Superior Court jury found Rafael Ramirez, 31, and his brother Armando Ramirez, 18, both of Madera, guilty this week of residential robbery, residential burglary, assault and criminal threats, according to authorities.

In March 2012, the Ramirez brothers, with a group of others, went to the Madera area home of victims Miguel and Ruby Rodriguez, who are siblings, over a personal dispute.

The brothers physically assaulted the victims, then entered their home, stole their dog, cell phone and wallet. Rafael and Armando threatened to come back and kill the victims if they called the police. Armando was arrested in March last year and Rafael was taken into custody in November.

At the verdict hearing Wednesday, the court set sentencing for 8:30 a.m. April 30 in department 9, where the brothers each potentially face up to eight years in state prison, according to the Madera County district attorney’s office.
