Murder is suspected
Sheriff John Anderson has launched a murder investigation after the discovery of a young man’s corpse in a cornfield west of Madera.
On Monday, the remains of the decomposed body were found in a row of corn, located off Avenue 14 near Road 9 in southwest Madera County, according to Erica Stuart, the sheriff’s spokeswoman.
The victim has now been identified as 18-year-old Pete Rios, Jr., of Chowchilla.
