Blood donors will receive vouchers entitling them to a free medium pumpkin from the Pumpkin King during a blood drive Friday, Oct. 19, at Madera Community Hospital. The Bloodmobile will take donations from 2 to 5 p.m.

Donors also will receive a variety of discounts on dining, recreation, entertainment and services from various Valley businesses.

“We appreciate our faithful donors, and also encourage first-time donors to please consider giving the gift of life,” said Chris Sorensen, director of community relations for the Central California Blood Center. “Aside from feeling great about helping, someone you care about may be one of those in need.”

Blood donation takes less than one hour to complete. Donors must be in good general health, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16 years old with written parental consent)...
