Bikes & Rods: community gathers to raise funds for Madera hospital

The weather cleared up just in time Saturday for the Madera Community Hospital Foundation’s annual Bikes & Rods fundraiser, where guests dressed in casual biker attire and viewed displays of custom motorcycles and hot rods.

About 250 supported the local hospital at the dinner dance in Hatfield Hall at the Madera District Fairgrounds.

Foundation president Ted Pistoresi presented a $100,000 check to hospital CEO John Frye at the event. The money will be used to upgrade the nurses station in the Electronic Medical Records Department, Pistoresi said.

Party favors included do-rag napkins, spiked bracelets, airbrush tattoos from Tats 4 All and souvenir photos taken by Jillein Milam’s MJJM Designs...
