The last time someone from Madera was elected to the California State Assembly, Madera was still a part of Fresno County, said Assemblyman Frank Bigelow (R-O’Neals) at the dedication of his new district office in Madera on Friday night.

Bigelow, a former Madera County supervisor, is the state assemblyman for the 5th District that encompasses Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Mariposa, Mono, Placer, Tuolumne and Madera counties.

“First of all you have to know how humbling this is to see so many of you here today,” said Bigelow.
