Baz Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Center, Inc.’s Madera, Fresno and Hanford locations have been granted a three-year term of CT accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) for their use of sinus and temporal bone computed tomography (CT).
Accreditation by the IAC means that Baz Allergy centers’ CT has undergone a thorough review of its operational and technical components by a panel of experts. The IAC grants accreditation only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care, in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process including detailed case study review, Baz officials said.
Not all medical facilities are accredited for their CT procedures, but CT accreditation is required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and in some cases by private insurers.
An estimated 69 million CT scans are performed annually in the United States to diagnose conditions of the neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, cardiac system and sinus and temporal bones, according to information from Baz Allergy Center.
