An internationally-known speaker and bestselling author is coming to Madera next week to discuss the importance of creativity in schools, with a message and style that officials called both powerful and disruptive.

But if you want a ticket, today is your last day to get one, and the price is a hefty $200.

Sir Ken Robinson, Ph.D., knighted in England in 2003 for services to the arts, will speak at the newly-constructed Madera County Office of Education Conference Center, 1105 Madera Ave., on Wednesday.

The event is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature a talk from Robinson, a question-and-answer session, book signing, and lunch...
