Companion book he wrote to film about little known religious war

The author of a companion book to a film about a little known religious war was well-received by fans during book-signing events over the weekend.

Ruben Quezada, who wrote “For Greater Glory: The True Story of Cristiada” spoke briefly during masses at St. Joachim Catholic Church and then spoke to visitors and signed books at St. Marello Bookstore.

His book is the official companion to the film which bears the same name and was released last month. It is based on the persecution of Catholics by the Mexican government in the 1920s and the uprising of these faithful to resist the secular authorities.

Maria Juarez de Garcia and Rosita Juarez Villegas were among about 30 people who showed up on Saturday to get their copies signed. Both learned about the Cristero War from their parents...
