Auditor makes the move to county

After being given an order by the Madera County Board of Supervisors in February to either move or resign from her position in 90 days, Madera County Auditor-Controller Marcia Hall signed paperwork last week that solidified her residence within the county.

It is a move that authorities said they hope closes the books on rumors and speculation about the legality of Hall’s appointment to the position vacated by Janet Kroeger — the third County Auditor-Controller in four years to do so — by the board in January of 2012.

Hall will move about 37 miles from her former residence within Merced County to a rented home near the Pheasant Run Golf Club on the east side of Chowchilla. Her family is currently in the process of transporting furniture and other items a little over 70 days after she received the order.

“Technically, I’m moved in,” Hall said. “I mean I pay rent and everything.” ...
