Trial setting was delayed for a woman accused of attempted murder of her ex fiancé so that a psychological examination can be completed.
Leanne Ballard, 33, was arrested Sept. 4 after allegedly stabbing Robin Gallegos, 32, in the back, wrist, and head and then trying to run him over with a car when he ran from her behind the Lowe’s on Schnoor Avenue in Madera.
Ballard’s trial date was scheduled to be set Friday, but her defense attorney requested a confidential psychological/psychiatric evaluation to be completed by a doctor within the next 30 days.
Ballard is scheduled to appear in court March 23 at 8:30 a.m. in Department 2 for trial setting.
