The Madera County Arts Council will celebrate 30 years of arts promotion in Madera County with an anniversary party March 23. As part of the celebration, all of the founding members and the organization’s first Board of Directors will be recognized.
The council’s first director, the late Nancy Clute, will receive special, posthumous recognition.
The anniversary party will be held in Hatfield Hall at the Madera District Fairgrounds. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour and artist demonstrations. Local artists will show their technique and discuss their craft. This is a time to meet old friends and be surrounded by the arts, said Julie O’Kane, current board president.
A three-course dinner including filet mignon catered by Madera Community Hospital will commence at 7 p.m. Diners will be entertained by the Madera South High Performing Arts group with a number from its upcoming musical, “In the Heights,” and a solo performance by Madera High graduate Amy Bolton, who currently performs in Los Angeles...
