Art class big success during Kids Camp

More than 60 kids listened carefully Thursday morning as Madera County Arts Council’s Elaine Blake explained their next project in the John W. Wells Youth Center’s arts and crafts room. The weekly program is part of the Madera Parks and Community Services Department’s Kids Camp.

The youths tried their best to create a watercolor image using the theme for the week, “Under the Sea.” The previous week saw the class outdoors creating chalk art on the sidewalks surrounding the Youth Center.

Blake was enthusiastic and pleased with her students’ efforts.

“They are really very good and enjoy the different types of art styles and themes that I try to teach,” she said...
