Applications sought for child care grants

The UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) is seeking applications from families who need help paying medical bills for children under 16.

Families who have an insurance plan but still have children with underfunded health care treatments, services, or equipment could potentially receive up to $5,000 through the grant program.

Everything from speech therapy to eyeglasses and hearing aids could be paid for by the grants, according to a press release from UHCCF.

“The UHCCF is dedicated to improving a child’s health and quality of life by making it easier to access needed medical-related services,” said Brandon Cuevas, CEO for UnitedHealthcare of California. “The grants enable families to focus on their children’s health instead of worrying about how they’ll pay their medical bills.” ...
