Annual Halloween parade, costume contest tonight

The Madera Parks and Community Services Department and the Madera Kiwanis Club will play host at the annual, free Halloween parade and costume contest tonight at the John W. Wells Youth Center, 701 E. 5th St.

Registration for the costume contest is set to begin at 5 p.m., with the parade beginning at 6:30.

After registration will be carnival games, a bounce house, music, and an opportunity to have costumed children photographed. Food and refreshments will be available for sale to support youth activities. There will also be a gift certificate raffle for all entrants in the costume contest.

After judging, trophies will be awarded to the best costume in age groups 2-6, 7-9, 10-12 and best scariest overall...
