The annual Spring Fling Eggstravaganza barely beat an incoming storm and saw hundreds of kids gather up more than 10,000 candy and prize-filled eggs in less than three minutes.
The event is sponsored by the Madera Parks and Community Services Department with the support of local businesses, service clubs and individuals.
The event Saturday morning at Lions Town and Country Park included bounce houses, an obstacle course, photos with the Spring Bunny, face painting and food and refreshments. Thousands of eggs were scattered over three softball fields near Industrial Avenue by volunteers from the Madera Youth Commission, Rotary Interact, Madera South Leadership Club and the Madera Youth Center Network.
