The Madera Parks and Community Services’ annual Eggstravaganza will be held starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lions Town and Country Park. The egg hunt, featuring 10,000 candy and prize filled eggs, will start at 11:30.
The egg hunt is divided into three different age groups: 3-4, 5-7 and 8-10. The eggs will be distributed on softball fields 7, 8 and 9, adjacent to Industrial Avenue on the south side of the park. In addition to the eggs, there will be family games, bounce houses, face painting, snow cones, food and fun.
Senior citizens who meet regularly at the Pan-American Community Center spent many hours filling the plastic eggs, according to the parks department. Many local businesses and service clubs donated to help the youth have a fun-filled day. These sponsors included Pistoresi Ambulance, Madera Breakfast Lions, Massetti Appliances, Wells Fargo Bank, Pak-N-Save, Save Mart Supermarkets, Rancho San Miguel, Target and Walmart.
