Fifteen churches of the Madera Ministerial Association have partnered as Love Madera to present Nite Lite from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Madera fairgrounds.

The evening is not organized to celebrate Halloween, but rather to give the community a safe and inexpensive alternative to typical Halloween activities, said the Rev. Lance Leach, spokesman for Love Madera.

Children will play age-appropriate games to win tickets and receive candy, he said.

The tickets will be used to purchase the children’s food throughout the night, and will be redeemed for prizes...
