Karun Samran, Madera High School’s top graduate of 2013, is a Maderan to his core.
Born and raised on a farm off of Avenue 9, Samran — who finished high school with a 4.5 GPA — plans to come back and expand his family’s business after he finishes college at University of California, Berkeley.
“I’m going to go to UC Berkeley for business,” Samran said. “I want to come back here and help my dad expand our farming business, get more land, that kind of thing.”
Samran’s list of top-tier accomplishments at Madera High School is extensive: California Scholarship Federation president, member of the Associated Student Body (ASB), top grade point average in the school and a captain on the school’s baseball team, which took its first Div. II championship in 17 years...
