Sheriff’s deputies arrested an Eastern Madera County woman, wanted for shooting a male friend in the foothills, on Friday afternoon.

Deputies captured Rachel Diane Silva, 29, at Hensley Lake. She has been wanted since April 6 for assault with a firearm.

On that day, deputies reportedly responded to a home on Road 810 in Raymond shortly after 10 p.m. An apparent argument between a man and a woman ended when the suspect allegedly drew a gun and shot the victim in the buttocks as he tried to run back inside his home, according to Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Erica Stuart. The suspect fled before deputies arrived.
