Agency to host Alzheimer’s workshop

A caregiver agency plans to provide the training usually set for its employees to residents in Madera and Fresno counties at no cost.

The Home Instead Senior Care office in Fresno is part of an international network of nearly 1,000 franchises that provide non-medical in-home care services for seniors. The aim is to help them live safely and comfortably on their own for as long as possible.

Faced with an ever-growing population of seniors afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, the network assembled the top experts in North America to develop a program to help its caregivers.

The Alzheimer’s or Other Dementias CARE: Changing Aging Through Research and Education Training Program incorporates an innovative, person-centered approach to help caregivers deal with the difficult behavioral changes that often are associated with these diseases.
