National Ag Day, which is today, recognizes and celebrates the abundance provided by agriculture. It is part of National Agriculture Week, also observed nationally, which shares the same aim.
Promoted by the Agriculture Council of America, the campaign started on Sunday and is set to conclude on Saturday. The council encourages organizers to recognize and celebrate the contribution of agriculture in the everyday lives of people by teaching how food and fiber products are produced, the role of ag in maintaining a strong economy and also providing safe, abundant and affordable products.
Every year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies and countless others across the country join together to recognize the contributions of agriculture.
