After 20 years of service, Catanesi moves onward

Elizabeth Catanesi sat at her desk, which was filled with bouquets and gifts, for the last time at First 5 of Madera County. After two decades of government service, she would be moving on.

“I have enjoyed serving the citizens of the city and county of Madera, but my time has come to serve on a grander scale,” she said.

Catanesi will be going to work for Richard Heath and Associates, Inc. in Fresno. She will be managing the coordination and implementation of the Assisters Program that will help build and train a statewide grassroots network of organizations to provide information and application assistance to the uninsured public.

She began with the City of Madera Parks and Community Services Department 20 years ago as a program coordinator. Within two years, she had advanced to become the department’s recreation manager and oversaw adult and youth sports, special events, aquatics and many other projects...
