The Young Africans, a musical group, will present a concert starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, at Valley West Christian Center, 101 W. Adell St.
Admission is free; however, an offering will be taken to help support the group’s African programs.
The Young Africans includes singers, musicians and dancers who were all once a part of the African Children’s Choir. Now 17-21 years old, they are trying to raise money to improve lives in their communities in Africa.
Called “Our African Dream,” the program is described in promotional material as “a unique, powerful, and uplifting presentation that showcases the best of African dance and music, while also bringing new, vibrant life to American spirituals, contemporary worship songs and, of course, gospel.” ...
