Local foundation provides place for those too old for MDA’s camp
A local nonprofit organization has sent adults afflicted with muscular dystrophy throughout the Central Valley to a five-day camp full of recreational opportunities.
The 2012 Justin Woods Foundation Muscular Dystrophy Camp at Tuloumne Trails in Groveland — about 90 miles northeast of Madera — included swimming, boating, nature and night walks, star gazing, arts and crafts, games, jousting, archery, a hay ride, smores in a camp fire and many more activities.
Volunteers from the small mountain community also put on shows, including an air show, for visitors.
