50 men in high heels march against sex assault, violence

A fundraising walk to protest rape, sexual assault and gender violence included more than 50 men wearing high heels. Most were employees of Baltimore Aircoil Company, which has strongly supported efforts of the event’s organizer, Victims Services.

A division of Community Action Partnership of Madera County, Victim Services provides services to those harmed by crime, domestic violence, sexual assault and rape.

More than 150 people showed up to the 6th annual Walk a Mile in her Shoes at Courthouse Park on Saturday. It included raffles, a meal, music, T-shirts and recognition of donors.

This year brought “the largest amount of walkers” ever for the march, said Leticia Lujan, Victim Services coordinator...
