A daylong patriotic celebration is set to take place in Coarsegold on the Fourth of July. The July 4th fourth annual Family Freedom Fest in the Coarsegold Historic Village, 35300 State Route 41 will feature all-day activities, but the main program is set to begin at 11 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Admission is free, but there is a $2 fee for parking in the event’s lot.

There will also be activities for children such as pony rides, a bounce house, water slide, crafts and a special laser arcade. The Lamar Leathers band will play. Jen Piccolotti and her daughter Lyric, and Alpha Falls and her son Andrew will be singing duets. Jen Piccolotti is directing the children’s choir, which will perform an original song by Sandy Wilbur. The song, called ‘We the People,’ features rap and the actual words to the preamble of the constitution.

The keynote speaker will be Evan Sayet, who organizers say is considered by many to be the nation’s leading conservative political comedian. He is the author of the bestselling book, “The KinderGarden of Eden: How The Modern Liberal Thinks.”

His work includes a series of lectures to the Heritage Foundation, the first of which is now, by far, the single most viewed talk in their history, about which Andrew Breitbart said it was “One of the five most important conservative speeches ever given.” ...
