MADERA RANCHOS — Four young men narrowly escaped serious injury after a high-speed, solo vehicle rollover crash on Road 36 near Ave 13 1/2, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers said the men were northbound on Road 36, when the driver lost control. Several hundred feet of heavy black skid marks were visible near where the car left the roadway.
Rather than brake and guide the car to a safer stop, the driver told officers he pulled the emergency brake hard — causing the Nissan sedan to skid, slide sideways and then flip over.
The car slid about 75 feet into a yard, missing trees and utility poles and came to rest upside down...
