Two months of investigation led Madera-area authorities to a home on Avenue 17 and Amador Street early Monday morning where officers discovered nearly 300 marijuana plants and hundreds of pounds of the processed drug, sheriff’s spokeswoman Erica Stuart said.

Seven people were arrested at the home, but Stuart said their identities could not be released as the investigation continues.

Three of the seven detained had medical marijuana cards that would allow them to grow or possess 18 to 22 pounds of the plant, Stuart said, but not the 383 pounds of processed marijuana and 291 live plants inside the home.

“Based on information agents have been able to gather, it is believed that this property was being used for routine cultivating and harvesting of marijuana,” Stuart said in a press release...
