3 cars in crash at DMV office

An unlicensed driver said he mistook the gas pedal for the brake Wednesday morning when he plowed into two parked cars and over a large shrub, according to the California Highway Patrol. No injuries were reported.

Officers said the 23-year-old man was at the local California Department of Motor Vehicles about 2:10 p.m., to register the car he had just purchased, when he tried but failed to make a right-hand turn into a parking space, and then apparently hit the gas pedal hard, instead of the brake.

The white Toyota Camry struck another parked Toyota and kept going, and then hit another SUV owned by a DMV employee.

The female driver and owner of the damaged parked, black Toyota was also found to have a suspended license, and her car was impounded for being unregistered...
