282 Stallions earn top marks

Teachers stood with their students before hundreds of people and spoke about each individual’s academic performance. The report card for all them: exceptional.

This week Madera South High School’s annual 4.0 Academic Letter ceremony, organized by the Parent Club and Stallion Leadership, recognized 282 students who earned a 4.0 grade point average at least once in 2013.

In 2013, 60 students earned a 4.0 GPA in the spring semester, 98 in the fall and 124 did it in both semesters.

Each honoree chose a teacher to speak about him or her and bestow their certificate of recognition along with an academic letter. Teachers described most top Stallions Tuesday as dedicated, hardworking and good-natured students...
