Two underage boys were arrested this week for attempted robbery after authorities said they drew a fake handgun on employees of a Madera recycling center.
The Hispanic boys, ages 14 and 17, were caught shortly after officers responded to the call from Velocity Iron & Metal Recycling’s location at Bethard Square Shopping Center around 5:15 p.m. Monday.
Witnesses saw the two boys approach employees of the company, pull a handgun on them, and take more than $200 before they ran down an alley on I Street, Madera Police said.
