2 killed in high-speed collision

A speeding, allegedly reckless driver killed himself and another driver when he crossed over the center line and struck another car head-on in the North Fork area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities identified the fatalities Friday as 36-year-old Michael Wayne Bowlan, of North Fork, and 60-year-old Gloria Ann Jackson, of Friant.

Speed and possibly driver impairment are being investigated as factors in the fatal collision. Toxicology reports are pending.
