Distracted driving may have caused a rollover crash that injured a Madera man and woman just before 2 p.m. Monday on Road 28 near Avenue 15, according to Madera police. The couple was taken to Madera Community Hospital for treatment of cuts and bruises and further evaluation.
Officers said the woman driver was headed north on Road 28 at 45 mph when she lost control of the 2007 Ford Fusion as she approached the hill near Avenue 15.
The car crossed over the southbound lane — in heavy traffic — went off the road and bounced down a steep 20-foot embankment, rolling several times before landing upside down in a field.
