BMW flies off road at high speed near Bass Lake
Two Oakhurst men were killed Tuesday morning outside of Bass Lake in a stolen BMW after the driver lost control on a curve according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officer E. Samaniego said the 2001 silver BMW was east bound at a high rate of speed when the car went off the road and down over the side.
“The car struck several trees and was badly damaged,” Samaniego said. “Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. Excessive speed was a factor in the fatality. Both occupants were wearing seat belts."
