In their first marijuana eradication mission this season, agents with the Madera County Narcotics Enforcement Team (MADNET) arrested two Mexican nationals Friday and seized close to 5,000 plants.
Twenty-five-year-old Mario Mosso of Acapulco, Mexico, and 30-year-old Armando Lara of Michoacán, Mexico, were found tending a garden in the Indian Creek area of the Sierra National Forest in North Fork, according to authorities.
Lara allegedly carried more than three grams of methamphetamine, as well as drug paraphernalia. He was also wanted in Fresno County on one felony and two misdemeanor warrants.
Both men, who will face felony narcotic charges, were taken into custody without incident and booked into Madera County Jail. Each is being held on an immigration hold...
