MADNET agents seize pot, butane honey oil lab

A Coarsegold man faces several felony charges after law enforcement found marijuana plants and processed pot, nearly a dozen weapons and a butane honey oil lab at two homes off Road 415 on Thursday morning, officials said.

John Paul Ross, 29, is accused of using the homes to maintain his marijuana operation.

Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team (MADNET) agents seized 1,122 marijuana plants, 50 pounds of processed marijuana, an elaborate butane honey oil lab, two assault weapons, several rifles and handguns, and two 100-round rifle magazines, said Madera County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Erica Stuart.

Agents say both homes are in a densely wooded area surrounded by tall grass, oak trees, shrubs and highly flammable manzanita. The butane honey oil lab posed a serious threat to several homes and structures in the immediate area, Stuart said...
