An intense academic competition ended victoriously for the 19th consecutive time for Yosemite High School on Saturday as its team won the 30th annual Academic Decathlon, hosted by Madera County Office of Education.
Sponsored by local businesses, service clubs and private donors, the decathlon featured the theme, “The Age of Empire.”
The awards ceremony in the cafeteria of Madera South High School was the culmination of a 10-event academic competition that started with an essay exam last month.
“We are excited to send such an outstanding team to represent Madera County at the state competition,” said Kristi Winter, events developer for Madera County Office of Education. “All of the Decathletes worked really hard and should be proud of their accomplishments.” ...
